Re: B & Q Sites
I don't know Andy. So far all of those that I have heard from have charity arrangements. i spoke to tubz vending this morning to see if they had heard anything and they hadn't heard anything and said they offered their sites on commission to support B & Q charity so maybe it's just charity sites???? Really can't answer that.Style wrote:All charity Barbara. Does that make a difference?
If as Pablo has stated, it could be B&Q have taken on board a national contract??
Time will tell, I just wanted to get as much information as I can to see if something can be sorted for you all.

Re: B & Q Sites
Hi Pablo, maybe you can speak to the store and ask if there is a reason for removal when you collect?PabloV8 wrote:I got a text message this morning to remove a B&Q machine before end of month - will remove it this weekend, it was not a brilliant site as machine was only allowed in staff room therefore was a bi-monthly service.
About a month ago I noticed I had competition from a snack box [fancy vending machine] so to be honest, going on sales not too down-hearted about removing machine.
Seems as though this is a national thing so will be interesting to see what the under-lying problem is!
Hope it is not another national contract otherwise we are all going to suffer with lost business one way or the other, not a good day for those who have several B & Q sites especially if they have lost the pub contract sites as well.

Yes good luck Barbara.
Worrying times for venders what with Marstons and now B and Q
Also just to add to the fun I had the privalage of holding a new pound coin the other day and tried it in a tower mech and can confirm it does not work (does not even fit in the mech) so very much doubt a mech can be created that will accept both and all current mechs will need to be changed.

Re: B & Q Sites
Was the new £1 too thick for the current gap or was the width the problem or both?

Re: B & Q Sites
I knew someone would ask me that I was not technically allowed to touch the new coin as its not been released to public yet so the chap I got it off wasnt keen on letting me play around with it from what I can remember I think it will be only the coin carrier that will need changing.

Re: B & Q Sites
Hi Barbara,
This was the transcript:
"We have received word from our Head Office to contact you to please remove the vending machine that we currently have in our canteen. We are no longer able to support this. Can you please let us know when you will be coming to remove the vending machine from our premises? This must be completed before the end of the year. A prompt reply would be gratefully received"
So as you can see, they are very polite and probably have decided a different direction. Been in there for well over a year however, sales have been very poor throughout, it was being ear-marked for removal. Guess you win some you lose some.
Cheers
Pablo
