Doing a few strip downs.
What all do you lubricate and with what?
I'm thinking the 3 dimples on the base and the barrel but where abouts and what lube?
Cheers

Re: What lube?
I'm interested in this too - none of my machines have had any lubrication at all, and I'm hesitent to use WD40 as I know it evapourates and dust sticks to it making a horrible gunk!
I was thinking some sort of general machine grease on the dimples - although I'll wait for someone else to confirm as lubrication is a lot easier to put on than take off :)
Cheers, Mark.

Re: What lube?
I use wd40 on the coin mechs and and for cleaning the base. I use vaseline on the barrells. I have used a spray grease on the dimple rings in the past but I found that over time it turned to dust and made the tower operate poorly. Now I just give it a little squirt of oil.

Sport on Andy. Just one thing about the WD40, after you have given the coin mech a very small spray, shake the surplus off my flipping/shaking the coin mech when holding it to remove excess otherwise it will drip.Style wrote:I use wd40 on the coin mechs and and for cleaning the base. Re: What lube?
Thanks Andy, where do you put the vaseline? Around the bottom of the carousel? Also, what sort of oil do you use on the dimple rings - just a normal 3 in 1 type?
Would you say these things need to be done to a fairly new tower (ie the ones I'm about to site) or are these more measures to revive an older tower?
Cheers, Mark.

Re: What lube?
Yes just a 3 in 1 oil. I use vaseline or oil under dimple ring. But not much. I use more vaseline on the back part of the barrel, (the thin metal strip on the older barrels) I dont think the newer one piece barrels need anything.

Re: What lube?
Thanks Andy, sounds like good advice as always - I'll put some 3 in 1 and vaseline in my vending toolbox :)
You're right, the newer one piece barrels wont need anything but I've got one older 2 piece barrel, so I'll make sure that has some lubrication.
Cheers, Mark.

Re: What lube?
You need to be careful with lubricants as some smell especially in hot weather and consequently, taint the products containers with lube smells etc.
i use Silicon spray from Maplin's no smell, does the job, so well happy.
