Re: New pound coin
Just wanted to say a massive thanks for that video Ade. I am about to try filing some Clenport coin carriers down so watching your video was very helpful. I just wanted to check, is it the Aluminium Oxide Grinding Stone (pinky colour) you have fitted to the rotary tool and is it the 6mm cylinder shape you would recommend? (same as the link you put to some on sale on Ebay), I think my kit only has a 9.5mm cylinder but looks like it will probably do the job.
Just wanted to add, when you mentioned adjusting the tension in the spring previously I thought you meant the spring thing on the back of the mech that clamps the needle onto the face of the £1 coin as the carrier turns (only 1 in each mech) but now I have seen the video I understand what you mean.

Re: New pound coin
Hi Andy,
If you break a circlip, you can replace by using 1.5in long thin wire, wind around handle into the groove and twist tight with a small pair of pliers. I use the ties for plastic bags. Strip away the plastic coating and cut in half. Does a secure job, got some over 5 years old.
Cheers,
Pete

Re: New pound coin
Hi Guys,
Just thought I'd offer a little tip for grinding coin carriers. Try the Dremel 115 bit as an alternative to the grinding stones. This is a deep cutting blade. I've found it far quicker than the stones, really speeds things up. They are about £5 each, I've done 200+ mechs now and still on my first one
Cheers, Jay.
