I came across this pub the other day where the previous manager had signed the place up to a five year contract for a coffee machine at £250 a month!!
The manager said they took around £40 a month in sales because the machine wasn't used much (don't do food) but the company would only let them out of the contract if they paid a £1000 penalty fee, which they are seriously considering. The machine is the bean-to-cup type that sits on a cabinet with a bin in it and vends for £1. I just wondered what the going rate is for this type of machine as what they agreed to seems extortionate

Whatever you can get lol
The high pressure push coffee machines can be 1000s to buy tbh
Normal.price for a vending machine is about 100 per month for a standard machine

I found out the previous manager also signed them up for a printer that's going to cost them £14000 over 5 years!? No idea why they couldn't just go to Curry's and buy one for 50 quid. It seems the previous manager was a salesman's dream and just couldn't say no, either that or he was taking backhanders for signing them up. Surely a good solicitor could get them out of a contract like that though?
