Sleek cans taking over?

Post by withnail »

Hearing rumours that the classic wide Coke can will soon become unavailable because Coke and others are switching to sleek style cans.
Obviously a problem for someone with lots of older vending machines.
Does anyone have any clear info on this?
Will they become unavailable or are the sleek cans aimed more at shops/supermarkets and the wide cans will still be produced for the vendors?
Thanks :-)

sleek cans are for European market I believe.

There are conversions for older machines still. Just a case of shims and cam adjustment

Oh right, no sleek cans in UK then?
We have quite a few old dixie narco's and royal vendors machines, I thought getting shims etc for these would be a problem.
Asked our drink supplier this week and he reckons he's asked Coco cola directly and they said the wide cans would continue to be available, phew ;-)
