Due to a couple of greedy leisure centres I service forcing me to go too 30% commission or lose all the business, I am having to consider going to a two coin vend with the towers.
So we are looking at a pound coin and a 20p piece.
Very reluctant to do this as I have done it in some sites with electric machines and it absolutely kills sales for at least three months, but don't see any other way?
Its a case of carry on running round like a headless chicken and make next to nothing or start generating some profit at the expense of the end user.
Anyone tried the two coin clenport mech?
Is it reliable? how much are they and has anyone got 6 second hand ones they want to move on?
Must be 1 x £1 and 1 x 20p only!
Cheers
Nigel

Nigel is that 30% gross that you competing against as I had similar where a large outfit were offering 30% nett of vat which equates to 25p a pot
Whene I explained this to the site they kept my machines

Hi Steve
The company who runs it have charity status and don't pay VAT so I have to give 30p in the pound and just strip the VAT out of my takings, I have 7 pringles machines and only 1 sweet tower so with pringles at £6.15 a tray which = 61.5p each including VAT I make less than 10p a sale.
Not willing to carry on with such a **** poor margin

i say make the switch on the pringles machines at least...no point working for so little margin. you'll probably lose a lot of sales but even if you sell half as much you will make more profit than you are now and you'll be doing less work, and definitely better to make something rather than nothing if you lose the site.

Hi Nigel,
The only 2 coin coin mechs I've seen/got is a 2 x 1 euro mech and yes they are reliabe. Change the carrier then you have a 2 x £1 mech. I don't think that Clenport have a carrier to take the 20p coin? The mech needs to be redesigned to incorporate an additional validator because of the shape of the coin. You're breaking new ground with this one so forget finding any 2nd hand mechs! Why don't you swap over and put in electronic machines at £1.20
Why are you paying £6.15 when Bestway have just finished a deal at £3.35+VAT?
I signed a 30% contract last year with a leisure centre, it's hasn't been a problem.
All the best,
Pete
