Re: Business is Business
Hi Gavin,
Yes on a personal note totally agree... but we are all here to make money
But things can only get better from here on in, your brother has entered the market with again good pricing but again the question is how long he can sustain that price which is on the lips of ops saying how long can tubz vending sustain it as well???
Question: you want to sell a vending round: what do you do
A: Sell it for the price you paid
B: sell it at a loss
C: slightly over price it and then agree on the price you had in mind
Everything is going up and a can of beer now cheaper than petrol no one knows???
WHAT A JOKE!!!
But as a non vendor i could not comment on how long it took to get prices down. why not call your tubz vending service manager & see what he can do for you??
but
but we cannot control the government only keep protesting in i feel would be in vein
the economy is still very flat as we all know, but if you can squeeze your cost margins down in the vending then fair play to all vendors....

Re: Business is Business
It's a good saying! From my point of view as an operator business is not business.Unless they have done untoward to you. I don't poach competitor sites no matter how good as inevitably they will retaliate and I will loose good sites which defeats the whole object. Now obviously if a site with no machines phones you up and says I am speaking to all the operators in the area to get the best comission then you have to compete on comission to get the site or put a competitive proposal foward.
Price wars / comission wars / poaching wars are generally not good for business in the long term unless you force the person you are at war with out of business however that could also be negative. (Wouldn't it be entertaining if tubz vending, hurleys, Vending Revolution and sweetfix went bust on the same day leaving operators with no mini can suppliers. I know this won't happen as I know 3 of the companies have there own tower operations meaning there will always be a basic supply level whatever happens which is good. What will probably change is the way operations are run.)
I think the problem with the vending industry unlike most other industrys is that it is a simple case of all the products are the same and the only difference is the price/comission I mean the sweets that are in the tubs are from the same factory the plastic used to make the pots is the same and m81 / chinese tower are also virtually the same. As long as you run a good service really what is the difference between an operator in london and an operator in scotland?
I think being a good operator and having a good business is about trying to be different than other operators i.e mutiple machines, toy machines different toy stock etc..
Cheers
Jonny

Re: Business is Business
Hi Jonny,
As you know that sinclair & Collis will poach any site whether it is a franchisee of what ever company or not.
I agree service is the key here, but at the same time dude need to look at it from a business term.
If a operator is offering a site a lower % and you know that you can offer higher with more machines what do you do???

Re: Business is Business
As an operator you need the stock to arrive on time, in the right quantities, and to keep your stock to 10-12 main popular lines. Running 30 lines means more waste/storage and some loss of money on obselete stock.

Re: Business is Business
I do look at it from a business term.
With Sinclair & Collis attitude towards poaching sites do you think they will be around a long time in the future based on those business principals because I don't.
The answer to your question is that if you did go an offer a higher comission to the site with more machines is it worth the retaliation of your competitor finding one of your goods sites and offering them more comission? Or is it worth just going and finding another site which you can put your machines in?
Cheers

As was said in the other topic. Why should this be necessary?kris@tubzbrandsltd wrote:But as a non vendor i could not comment on how long it took to get prices down. why not call your tubz vending service manager & see what he can do for you??
You should have a price that everyone can buy at. Not a better price if you moan/complain/jump ship.
I wonder how much people are paying for their stock if they have not heard of this forum or the other sellers of mini can stock and settle for the first price they are given.

Fact of the matter is if you dont ask for better prices , you dont get em!
Just like any other Business up and down the country.
We bought a fridger/freezer last weekend.
We went to currys first who had price match signs up everywhere.
We then found it £80 cheper in John Lewis Dept stores, did we go back to currys to price match............NO!
The one who offers the best Prices AT THE TIME I AM READY TO BUY will always get my Business, I dont go much for this price matching milarky, just a time wasting gimmick!
Thats how Business works best for me!
it dosent always pay to be loyal if you are independant

Re: Business is Business
So true Nigel.
Why go from the cheapest shop to another shop to get it at the same price.
