Re: Sinclair Collis
Hi Guy,
They will buy whole rounds lock stock and barrel. I don't think they would touch Vending Revolution sites but any 20% comission site they would buy.
The problem with SC is the service. They just cannot give it and in the long run I cannot see anything happening.
Best Regards

Paul, I can't see how the nuts for the fag machines will work as most pubs are under contract for all their nuts and savoury and generally make a lot more selling their own than in any vending machine

I agree, most of our pubs refuse many or all nut products, as they sell them themselves over the bar.spock wrote:Paul, I can't see how the nuts for the fag machines will work as most pubs are under contract for all their nuts and savoury and generally make a lot more selling their own than in any vending machine

beg to differ guy, all my pibs had cashews and pischois(or however you spell them), landlords very ofetn do away with thier own nuts and let us put them in the towers...
i have places that only want nuts so how you can say this is beyond me.

We do have nuts in many pubs, especially the ones they don't stock like Cashews and Pistachio, as you said. We also have some pubs who have stopped selling any nuts themselves, quite happy to let the towers takeover.
But we have also had many pubs say yes to our sweet towers, but provided there are no nuts inside, as they do want to keep selling them themselves.

Re: Sinclair Collis
I spoke to "Nobbys Nuts" a few years back and they just were not geared up to vending, indeed they offered us the larger retail packs to be cut open instead of proper bulk bags so we dropped the idea. There have been rumours for a while (via certain national pub chains) that nuts may be prohibited from the front of house in the future due to alergen risk under ever tightening regs, feckin' what next...
As for Sinclair Collis, I wouldn't worry about them because whilst they have a strong sales force not shy of using a few dirty tricks their service provision is **** poor. They had a go at us a few years back with Ann Summers and those 'Sherman Tanks' of vending machines from Slovenia, lasted a year as the machines broke down and were not supported so we got all the sites back... on our terms. Patience is a virtue and whilst many bars do want to continue selling their own nuts and crisps, IMHO any bulk vending product which leaves a greasy mark on the tower ball should be in an individual wrap (like Pringles, SweetFix etc) as it looks much better.
Would you buy foodstuff from a converted fag machine? I've seen a few machines from the late PVM as Pringles canister vendors but still "nah" not the right look as they are essentially converted fag machines, so SC would flounder without serious reinvestment and retraining. Remember, every one of us added together is probably bigger than SC if everyone can agree a trading format and stick to it.

It's just scaremongering or otherwise they would have to ban them from shops as well. What next, cancel halloween lol
