Help For Heroes

We are wondering if anybody else has yet experienced this problem.

We have today been to service one of our sweet towers, a wall mounted Clenport which has been in the same pub for several years. Next to it has sprouted a brand new Chinese tower on floorstand, stocking Hurleys and tubz vending products. It has two large labels on the tower proclaiming that it is raising funds for 'Help for Heroes'. A smaller label on the machine says that it has been provided by Rainbow Vending.

The landlady is under the impression that all proceeds from the machine go to the charity, but I suspect that it is actually only her commission which is donated and the operator makes the normal return.

Obviously 'Help for Heroes' is a very popular charity at the moment and while today we had to replace 23 tubs in our machine and none had yet been sold from the Rainbow Vending machine, I can see long term that our machine may become no longer viable.

Is it 'fair game' that these Help for Heroes machines should be placed in sites where there are existing vendors of the same products?

I dont think there is many fans on here of machines being placed in sites that already have a machine. Whether they are H4H machines or not.
I recently had a Hurleys tower placed next to one of my towers (On commission, not H4H) where my tower only averages £8/month anyway. I wasn't very happy. The site wanted it as it was free, so why not. They where getting commission from 2 machines.
Is Hurleys site finding turning into what Vending Revolution site finding is, and they will try their hardest to place a machine regardless of whether a machine is already sited or not?

its always a danger of phone site finding, saying that weve had our own reps go into sites and kick us out of our sites and replace our own machines with more of our own machines ;)

To me, this is the lowest of the low.

I am constantly site finding and if a site is found that has a competitors tower in, I will not leave mine. Its that simple for me. I expect the same from a competitor, but not everyone has the same views. I am using Hurleys and on these occasions, I have found Rob very understanding and he finds me another site. He also has machines out and abides by the code. I dont think its Hurleys, more over its the operator.

For your information, H4H will be receiving a minimum of 10%, but as I do, som pay them more, so check your facts before discussing with the landlord.

save up 100 shopping trolly tokens and give them to some boys outside and tell them have won some free tubs of sweets as theya re testing the new machine . ;)

i would phone rainbow vending up and politley ask them to remove their machine as they have broken a vending law. explain it would be in their best interests in the long run

hmmm, this has happened on a few occasions to me.
Its all down to site accepting something over the phone normally.
not a lot you can do really, just point out the fact that nothing pays the charity 100%.
The guy who fills it has to make a profit!
Often pointless in having two towers especially if they offer the same brands!
Offer the site a different machine. Pringles or toys are the most obvious, you can often turn a situation like this to your advantage, you know :thumbup:

Total agree Ade. If you put one of your machines next to theres it would dilute there sales also. A gentlemans agreement is required. A prngle machines or toy machine next to it is fair game though
