Could this be the answer to tobacco ?

Post by firestarter »

Dear Forum

We are a small firm based in Oxford with a new energy sweet, (Red Bull popping candy) which we think might be ideal for replacing the chasm left by tobacco. Gavin Borthwick has tested, and recommends the product, hence the post here.

The reason for posting is to understand how best we can merchandise the product to help maximise your sales. Our product is small, lasts "forever", doesn't require chilling and has a high unit RRP and therefore margin (eg we can supply to retail at 50p incl VAT + pnp and perhaps even do better for larger orders) so it should be ideal. On the flip side it's very light and can require repacking to work with every machine.

We'd like to hear from you what you think.

If interested please keep reading - there is product and contact information below

many thanks

Andrew Guise

Dear All,

Thank you for inviting us to this forum and giving us the opportunity to introduce Firestar, an all new energy sweet.

Firestar is basically a Red Bull version of popping candy, that comes in a 2.5g sachet (8.5cm, business card size). Its RRP is £1, it has a 2 yr shelf life, and comes in 4 variants 2MAX(mint/cherry), and 2SHOTZ (mint/cola).

For point of sale the sachets can be sold individually, as they are, in boxes for dispensing and or mounted on a backing board. Multipacks are also possible (online the most popular orders are bulk orders of 40). Almost any machine can be used and almost any location too, with offices, gyms, transport hubs, bars, clubs etc all being obvious place to sell the product. I know many people say it, but Firestar is ideal for replacing holes left by tobacco products. MOQ 12 boxes of 20.

For independent reviews google "firestar energy" or follow this link
http://www.inspiredbycaffeine.co.uk/app ... tar-cherry" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Out of over 70 products reviewed Firestar came 3rd in all categories and top in non-drinks

If anyone is interested we will check here regularly but for quicker responses please email sales@firestar69.com

Can confirm product to be as Andrew states - samples were well packaged plus they work - I think this could be repackaged in white plain boxes size of cig pack - sell 2 for £4

Hi Gavin,

I am assuming that you have retailed these. If so, how is it working out and what do they retail at in pubs and gyms etc.

Thanks,

Paul

With the backing board they can also be sold in any of the larger glass fronted snack machines, and upto 2 sachets can be placed in the boxes used for "condom" type mechanical machines. MOQ of 240 sachets for £120 plus postage gives £240 at the RRP and £480 at the price suggested above (we'd still advise lower to get higher turnover) - Each Max sachet = 2 Red Bull shots which retail for £2 each, so perhaps in vending it works at a higher price.

In clubs we have sold sachets for £5 each but it's on a promo night, and I can't assure anyone that these prices can be sustained without the models to persuade customers of the benefits of the product......

Hi,
I dont operate bigger vendors. Could the backing board be sold to outlets for them to sell to individual customers.
If so, how many are on a board.
Thanks,

Paul

There is one sachet per board (but we can provide singles without packaging), and there are 20 in each CDU. Each CDU has a tear away. The open box can be used for display, or the sachets can be hung on bars like bags of sweets or clip strips like peanuts etc. (backing board has Euro slot).
