Is the ban actually confirmed as yet? thought they were taking an appeal to the European court?

Has anyone ever seen a fag machine with chip and pin on it? I have an idea but need to do a bit more research.

Re: Could this be the answer to tobacco ?
Has anyone given any thought on how they are going to approach this? Obviously there are going to be thousands of redundant cigarette machines sited in pubs. But those machines are all owned by other venders, whom I would think are not just gonna walk away from them. Surely they are looking into alternative products for them??
Should we be thinking about approaching them sooner rather than later to try and buy up some of the smaller rounds, or try and sell them some alternatives.
Or wait until the ban kicks in and mop up the machines that are left, providing the operators have not already evolved.
Any thoughts?
Regards
Rob

Hi, this is NOT a drink, its crystals that you eat like popping candy. No need for water, it fits in your wallet and with slow release technology lasts for 4 hrs. THe cola tastes like cola bottles! With only 10 calories its much healthier than ALL the leading drinks.
Cigarette machines are a big opportunity, one lane each for each of the variants, plus a couple of multipack options and you can re-merchandise the entire machine with products that should have as high a volume and similar if not greater margins for multipacks
As for margins, I don't know what is available in vending but 50p-60 WSP to £1 RRP is generally considered good for confectionery when we talk to shop owners ( we are currently in 2500 indies).

I think the problem is that the site owner comission is 30% most operators work on a cost in the machine of 0.35p-0.40p.

Electronic "ciggies" are nicotine delivery systems in much the same way normal "ciggies" are
Nicotine is very different to caffeine, its both a stimulant AND and a relaxant; whereas caffeine is just a stimulant that relieves the symptoms of fatigue, either physical or mental.
Nicotine is highly addictive, caffeine isn't. Nicotine is poisonous at VERY low doses caffeine isn't.
Nicotine is a medical product governed by tough regulatory laws, caffeine is a food. Nicotine potentially has litigation issues, caffeine almost definitely doesn't.
Far more people drink coffee than smoke
All in all we think Firestar is better, because its healthier, does what it says on the tin and is a much larger market but at the end of the day only time will tell

Re: Could this be the answer to tobacco ?
Johnny,
thanks for the site commision info - not bad for SFA, or do they collect/refill etc? for that amount of cash
it roughly the same as a wholesaler supplying retail but of fthe top rather than the bottom,
we'll need to think on this, any ideas of structure on single and multi packs at both £1 and £2 each appreciated (it looks like £.150 will be the minimum?)
