There are some fake oversized pound coins out there.
Taking off front and sliding mech up does not work as mech is in wrong position.
Solution: with front off spray loads of wd40 on back of mech where coin is; then grab rubber mallet give front of mech big wack just where coin is. Coin pops out & your back in business.
larger pound coins and how you unjam them

or just unjam it with a flat headed screwdriver. take mech off, £1 coin will be stuck where its meant to exit, get flat head screwdriver and prise it out. if you have problem with them on a certain site then file down mech where £1 coin is inserted to the size of the over sized coin, then it will work perfectly on normal and oversized coins.

one more tip, keep oversized pound coin so if you have a prob at another site you have the coin to gauge how far you need to file mech down.
