Setting up website

Post by dorsetvending »

In November I'm setting up a website for the vending business as the machine range is pretty wide now and there's likely to be fair few pub snacks supplied too.

Just wondering, my web designer wants it to feed direct into Twitter/ Facebook accounts with bits of news etc. Is it just me or is vending pretty "same old same old". If I looked in the past week or so struggle to find much of interest to discuss. ie. "Went to Red Lion where landlord said machine was empty, only to find machine 2/3 full" doesn't really work does it?

Maybe I should be highlighting a site each day I service talking one of their events up?

My stock for toys changes a bit so could talk about that, maybe discuss merits of each machine. Other than that I'm a little stumped...

Please discuss.....Ty

Facebook and Twitter can be great platforms for promoting business, however what your talking about is basically a blog and I can't see blogging about vending being very interesting to read.

Good selling point for promoting your sites however, I agree with Daz, how exciting can vending news be? Mind you the 'general public' might be interested in the price changes and secret price lists as well as the underhand tactics of certain suppliers! Better than some of the soaps!!!!!

If your planning to retail your snacks from your site then you need to update your news often, this will help with your seo, google will be able to find key words in your text. Eventually you will start growing up the rankings.

For example if you wanted to be well known for cola bottles, every news story you write should make reference to cola bottles. You can also use meta tags on your stories which really helps.

I did notice Vending Revolution have a little hidden section on their website that they write pointless news articles about vending franchise, obviously to help with google ranking.

As for vending stories/blogs, the snackascam one was a great read.
