Unprofessional tubz vending Operator.

Post by Venderbase »

A bit like a union or as has been said, an accreditation. Sounds great.

The less they know the better

I think it will cause more problems but if u feel it will be an advantage then I'm sure
Matt could get some printed up, dont think I will be putting them on my machine tho
This is a good point and it had occured to me too , but we could make it an accreditation or a member logo . It doesn't have to mention the forum . It could just be a wee logo with " member of vending association" Or just MVA for short. At least those in the know would understand that machine belonged to someone on the forum. It could be given out free when you join the website as a member , say £20 per year membership.

Noel, I don't think a lot of people give a **** if we are on the forum or not.

Last Friday I was on my round and in one particular area I had 2 of my landlords hand me over a competitors leaflet saying they were trying to poach my site.
I gave them a call Ellis vending and asked them what they were playing at, the guy told me that he saw that my machines were low and in poor condition so he thought he could offer a better service than me. I told him that there are more than enough sites out there, there is no need to poach mine but he said there is nothing wrong with him asking the question.

I mentioned the forum and he said he knows about it but doesn't come on it. Hopefully he won't go poaching any more but he didn't care I was part of this forum

Also when **** does hit the fan with an operator what is the vending forum going to do about it? There have been a few examples of operators getting fucked over in the past but we all sit back and don't really do anything about it

Regards

Ross

No one sits back and does nothing about it Ross, we all sit up and take notice , but the forum can't actually do anything about it Ross. I would just hope that the majority of the people on here would be decent people and treat other operators accordingly. I know that's not going to happen all the time but I could almost guarantee the larger operators would not poach sites. They don't need to. So if anyone is poaching sites it's probably a small operator who doesn't matter....who won't last long if he has to resort to that behavior. Karma will come around eventually and bite him in the ass and he will be gone. I never poached a site from another person for 2 reasons....1 I wouldn't do that to another person, and 2 I want all my sites to be ones I got myself. I don't want anyone saying I had to steal their site to survive. Now don't get me wrong I can be ruthless, but not at someone elses expense.

It does work as said before, those that agree to become part of a group become members and agree not poach any sites from other members as well as follow some basic guidelines. However to make it really work all members need to buy from the same one supplier and agree to only buy from the said supplier in return for getting a discount that is not available to anyone else, the best prices you can get. More people will want to join up to get prices and therefore agree to terms of non poaching. If anyone is found poaching there booted and lose access to the best price plan. If the suppliers offer a better deal to anyone else we leave and find another supplier.

Also when acting as a proper group the designated supplier also has responsibilities that they must follow.

Oviously suppliers arent going to like the idea (unless they ecome the nominated supplier, but thats there problem)

It works on many different businesses and theres no reason why it couldnt work here.
