I suppose, considering differences in culture and all that, they'd be kept alive in a bucket of ice usually before cooking but at least the poor wee sods can wiggle their legs and maybe have a shag before they go into the pot. At first I thought they were being eaten alive by the customers until I realised the purpose is getting fresh shellfish on the way home from work and then cooking at home. What's next though, a vending machine like one of them 'Hot Pockets' things Hot Crabs in 60 Seconds.
