Questions...

Post by KASE »

Hello

Do you need any license to sell food or toys? I know you need PLI but is there anything else I require?

Also, if you are buying from places like Sweetfix and filling your own tubs, do you need health and safety checks, have your preparation area pre checked by council, need food hygiene certificates???

Thanks in advance

Kase

I assume self filling with pre packaged foods ( ie mini cheddars etc..) is less problematic, but do you have to clearly display weight etc...

I am sure there are several vendors who self fill. Just not sure about legalities of it. Will PM Sweetfix to ask - thanks

If pre packed I am sure thats fine as you cant tamper or allow foreign objects etc. I would also say that you dont need to label in these circumstances but TBH not sure.

hi kase, we dont supply for people to self fill. We just supply filled pots. To self fill you are meant to have your area inspected. How many do in practice is a mute point. You do need to put ingredients, sellby dtaes and have a tamper proof lid, i.e selotape/sticker etc

So, what about Beaver style machines? Do you need any hygiene things for this? Do you need to display details of sell by date/ last fill date/ ingredients etc... of sweets in the machine?

Yes the above all sell prepacked, if you want to buy bulk you need a cash and carry I am told that Hancocks are the best and have most choice have a look at their website. I have bought in the past from Bookers though
