I went to service on e of my towers last week in Gillingham Kent at a branch of quickfit behind Gillingham High Street only to find the machine no where in sight, I also noticed that i did not recognise any of the staff who were usually there and on speaking to the new manager was told that the tower had been collected by a guy in a van who showed him an id card and said that they were no longer allowed towers in quickfit branches and it had to be removed, there were apparently a few other towers in the back of the van so it looks like someone isgoing round stealing other operators machines in this area, so an yone else with towers in this area i suggest you be vigilant.

I gaurantee you that "Someone collected it" always translates to "We're new here so decided to break into your machine, steal the cash and sweets and tell you someone took it away"

I can't say in htis case , but yes Daz that does happen a lot. We get it a lot especially when a landlord is leaving a pub.

Ask for CCTV and report it to the police if it was only a short time ago.

Report it to the Police?

I've had 3 stolen in the last year.
The last one the guy was the owner of a hotel, he is still living in the area, people even know roughly the specific location.
I reported this to the Police, so they could trace him.
I waited 6 weeks to be told that they can't locate him.
Utter rubbish!

I'm sorry to be cynical but this comes under petty theft and the Police have given up.

If you think it's a dodgy location either don't install or chain it up.

yep Ive given up keeping count of how many I have had nicked and I try not to think about it as it eats me away!

Best way to deal with as just think of it as depretation, tell your accountant to write it off as a bad debt thus reducing your tax liability.

Does anyone mark their towers so that they are unique and identifiable? Ultra violet pen/smart water etc

I too arrived at a pub today to find my tower had been stolen, it had been unscrewed from the base. Landlord said it must have been taken out the fire exit one night, he could not call me as the number was on the machine. I said I will call the police and report it, landlord said he is happy to give a statement if they ever bother to do anything about it.

Site does £25 a month, landlord said he would like another machine and will keep it near the bar. Agreed as long as it stays by the bar.

Days like this make vending a real poo business to be in.
