15 machines for 10K, what are they gold plated?

No not going to sign any contracts.

What sort of mistakes did you make in your first few weeks?

He bought from Beck Vending (Google it!)

Well I dropped my keys in a full machine and had to empty the bloody thing on site, I put fruit pastels in (lids were no sealed) and a lid came off spilling its contents, oh yes empty it again! Bought stock that does not sell well, you will see threads on here with best sellers, tried too many lines then when I go round to top up had to carry about 15 different boxes of stock, have got that down to 10 now. Dropped numerous pots and watched my profits spill all over the place, order stock which arrives damaged everytime, thats sorted now I order on a pallet oh and bought too many of one flavour of Pringles which dont move very quickly. Oh kept really good records but then started throwing receipts in a box which was a very bad idea. Also bought some ***** off ebay, still at least I have some spares now! Other than that all plain sailing

I went with tubz vending. My beef with them at the moment, is that they changed the contents in the tubs. They didn't change them for better quality, but cheaper quality; and as a result my sales plummeted. I realise they are doing this to make money for themselves. So now I'm re-siting my machines myself, de branding them from tubz vending, and am looking to go with Hurleys. Hurleys quality is alot better and cheaper.I know other vendors have got tubz vending, to go a little bit cheaper than Hurleys, but whats the point if the product is low quality and doesn't sell.

Hi,
I have had a few problems with Hurleys especially with the site finding services. I bought ten machines a couple of months ago and have only managed to get 4 sited. When i bought the machines I was told I would have the sites the following week and they even talked us into buying double the amount of stock thinking we would sell it.

however

Fast forward a few weeks and we had 10 machines and nearly 2000 tubs of sweets with no sites, we had to chase them, had problems with them not returning calls etc.. finally they come back with a few sites, of which only 2 of them wanted a tower, the rest of them thought it was an honesty box or they didnt know anything about it or didnt have the correct management buy in to have one. We spent so much time trying to get hold of these people in pubs etc.

I felt really dissapointed with them, they come across really well on the phone when i initially called them and i did get the impression they really cared about their customers. However like allot of companies once they have your debit card details the contact dries up.

We have 4 machines sited now which are doing well, im happy with the way its going but im still waiting on Hurleys to sort sites out, they told me they had exhausted my local area a town which has a population of about 60,000 so its by no means small.

Ill see what happens in the new year, but if nothing does happen ill try the service at tubz vending.

Cheers
Paul

Paul

Have you thought about site finding yourself? Its not rocket science and if you accept the rejection that is inevitable on occasions its fine. There is nothing better than targeting a location that you really want and getting the deal then watching it turn out to be a goldmine site

Cheers

Hi Smudge

what product did tubz vending change, all of them?
I use tubz vending and I have not noticed this?
Could you expand on the varieties that have been sacrificed please.

Many thanks

I have Steve, I have a few contacts that ive been chatting to about this. I just paid for this service as part of the package. But I'll speak to Hurley's in the new year and see where they are up to with it. I know they have been busy lately.

Im happy 4 are sited so i cant complain that much but I would like to get the rest of them out there pretty soon.

I eventually went with Hurleys with their honesty box "Childline" package. I too have used their site finding service to help me get established with 200 sites. I only started 2 weeks before Christmas and now have 130 sites up and running, just done my first collection for 60 of them in the last two days and the figures have been pretty much spot on what I was led to believe. Yes I have problems with some sites as I believe Paul and Rob outsource their site finding service and to be fair the telesales person cannot see the site and does not know if it is suitable or not, they also have a tendency to "sell" to the a junior member of staff who don't ask managers or owner’s permission and so I have not got into all of the sites. From my first batch of 100 I sent back around 20 or so and Rob sent me some replacements fairly quickly. Yes I have contacted Hurleys and not had a reply straight away but I take the view that I am not their sole customer and so if I have not had a reply I give a follow up call which sorts it out.

I'm glad I used the site finding service to get me started as I have learnt a lot from it and it has got me into sites I would never have approached myself. I have also started to site find myself as someone else said it is not rocket science and I already have had some success with this. Going to start in earnest after the new year and hopefully have 300 sites by the end of Jan and another 300 during Feb, then the really hard work for the next 6 months re-siting the crap sites and tweaking it.

I have a mix a sites consisting of shops, industrial units and pubs and the pubs have proved so far to be the best earners along with fast food outlets. Still early days and I should imagine it will take a few months for me to get a proper feel for things.

It was mainly there jelly mix sweets, fizzy mix, and assorted pencils. I did get complaints off customers.
Hurleys are a lot cheaper, and they are sending better quality on these.
