New 5p and 10p coins

Just heard today that new 5p and 10p coins will be coming out and wont be the same size as the old ones. See link.

How will this effect mechanical machines? i imagine it could be expensive.

they will work exactly the same with mechanical mechs, its only electronic mechs that need reprogramming
