Hurleys New Crisp Line
About 2 years ago, Hurleys embarked on providing a competitor for Pringles for the vending market. The results were mixed but the failure to establish the brand of crisps as a legitimate competitor werent down to the product itself, but due to the lack of high street visibility.
Im glad to say that we have gone a long way to rectifying this situation.
Weve teamed up with an FMCG (fast moving consumable goods) supplier who has a vast experience and in depth knowledge of the Grocery and Travel Retail market.
It is to this end that we can say that our new brand of pringle type crisp will hit the Grocery sector in and around April this year. The Stakz brand will be seen on the high street in major household names in both the Uk and Ireland.
This will lend ultimate credibility to the brand and with this visibility we are hugely confident that sales in the towers will be on a par with Pringles as your customers will have tasted the brand at home.
In the Grocery sector, the Stakz will be sold in both the Grab n Go (small) pot as well as the taller 180g container. The flavours will be varied enough as the Hurleys crisp flavours were and the quality as high as we previously supplied.
We have an approximate launch date in April, but await to have that confirmed.
We will lauch into the vending market a few weeks later than the Grocery launch so that the public have time to see, taste and recognise the brand when it appears in the vending tower.
The price will be as low as £2.99 per tray of 12 x 40g pots when they are launched.
In the meantime however, we are able to supply pringles for the vending tower at £3.99 (plus VAT) per tray of 12. This is the cost price we can get them for. This is higher than when they are on offer at the cash and carrys, but at least when the offers are not on, you can still get them for a little over 33p a pot.
Any feedback would be welcomed.
Best regards, Paul and Rob.

Re: Hurleys New Crisp Line
Hi Paul,
I have got to say they look great and really do hope they bed in to the market well as it has been long over due that operators have an alternative to pringles.
Please keep us up to date with the launch to the supermarkets? Is it to all supermarkets nationwide or are they trialling the product in certain stores / areas?
Best Regards
Jonny

Re: Hurleys New Crisp Line
I forgot to add I have some very good pringle sites. One with 6 machines in if you want me to trial Stakz machine vs Pringles machine let me know.
I would say that operators could take a 10/15% fall in sales compared to pringles to keep the same profit per visit.
Best Regards

Re: Hurleys New Crisp Line
Looks very good but the proof is in the product not the packaging. If they are a very similar taste to pringles then your on to a winner. If they are a cheap potatoe chip with no real flavour then forget it no one will buy them again. Interesting to see how they sell because the branding does look similar to pringles only a different name, might need to test it out soon.

Re: Hurleys New Crisp Line
Look really good Paul
And cheap too
Timing couldn't be any worse for you guys though, what with today's announcement that Kellogg's are buying Pringles. They will certainly want to get their teeth into any competition.
Good luck though I hope you pull it off.

Great branding Paul/Rob. I hope they taste as good as Pringles. If so, at the price quoted, customers will no doubt buy them.

Re: Hurleys New Crisp Line
Well done, looks good, will you be sending samples to current customers to trial? I for one would not be willing to place an order without tasting/trialling in one of my sites.
Good luck though as said above an alternative would be great
