Neat fix for drooping Clenport sweet tower barrel

Post by dorsetvending »

We have all had that jamming problem where the spring behind the barrel weakens over time. It leads to the pot dropping too far and the barrel cuts into the pot above.
One neat solution with permanent result....

Just below the coin mech screw in a small metal strip the width of the coin mech, making sure the strip is the right position to hold the coin mech at the right height.

You will have a machine that will give you thousands and thousands extra vends. Hope this helps someone.

Hi Gavin,

I have been doing similar for the last year. Yes it does work with both Clenporte and Chinese. Also placing grease around the inner part of the barrel regularly helps to create trouble free vending machines.

Guess your stripping the plastic sections off and greasing the barrel by turning the barrel full 360 degrees ?

Hi Gavin,

When a machine comes back into my garage, I completely strip it and as you say, grease the barrel when it is in the open position. On site, I put a small amount of grease on my longest finger and attach it to the lower part of the barrel through the product tube, when the mech is in the closed position. As the barrel turns, it spreads out the grease. Trial and error at first, so run a few pots through to confirm the grease is not getting on them before you leave. You will be amazed at the difference this makes. Lithium grease is best.

Thanks,

Paul

I disagree Ade. 3 in one oil just lubricates, whilst Lithium grease forma a 1 -2 mm film which stops the barrel from running metal to metal.
