I have to say maybe niavely that I thought I was fully covered when I was with Simply and it appears I might as well thrown my premium down the drain, I even recommended people to them. What a fool

Hi all,

I wanted to update everybody about what we're doing: After speaking to the product development and underwriting teams about your concerns, I can confirm that we'll be making some significant changes around this particular trade-heading (vending machine operator). Nothing's been changed yet as I've been told these things will take time to work out (they need to adjust underlying code and other technical things :) ).

There also may have been a little confusion around trade-headings and as such I'd like to invite you all to a Google hangout around trade-headings - If you want to talk to us, face-to-face around the problems with trade-headings then I'd be more than happy to arrange this (please note this will take a few days to set up as I need to get an under-writer into the Northampton office!)

Please do let me know if you'd like this so I can arrange things for you all - alternately, you can always PM me or email me direct at social@simplybusiness.co.uk

-David.

Spoje with my broker today and he confirmed that my policy covers me for all liabilities arising to do with company business. He was Also surprised when I talked about problems regarding machine liabilities when staff not on site and assured me that I was covered. Trying to sort a deal out for members now.

Hi all,

I have been offline all week, due to the BT underground cabel to our villiage being stolen again. This post now makes very interesting reading and I hope that my original post helped ops on here. I have contacted Compare Liability ( Ceta Insurance) and have suggested that they register on here, as Simply Business have done to enable comment from both sides.

I intennd to contact Simply for a refund of premiums, as I feel totally mislead.

Cheers,

Paul

Hi guys,

It'll be interesting to see if Ceta Insurance do cover for the machines when you're not in attendance as it seems you're getting a lot of cover for a very low price.

I'm sorry to hear of everybody's frustration and again please do either PM or email me (details above) so I can look into your cover for you.

mr simply buisness, we are vending operators that travel from site to site, what is the point of an insurance that only covers us if anything happens while we are on site? we need cover where we are covered against being sued when we are not there simple. and after this fiasco do you really think the question `are we covered when we are off site` has not been asked to the new insurers really.

Hi David,
I am the orignal poster and I am pleased that I have highlighted an issue that could have left many of the members on this forum in very difficult circumstances, should a claim have been made for an incident, whilst the operator was not on site. (99% of the time) Lets face facts- someone could have lost their house.

I have completely lost all confidence in your abilities to sell me insurance that covers me for the right eventualities and will take some convincing, to change my mind. I have contacted your department to request a full refun of my past premiums, as I feel totally mislead by your advisers and shocked by your companies lack of knowledge and professionalism. Should I not receive a full refund, I will go directly to the Insurance Ombudsman and suggest that the other operators affected, do the same.

I await your comments.

Hi Paul,

I'm sorry to hear that you've lost confidence in our business and it's also quite saddening that you feel that our company is lacking in knowledge and professionalism - I'm not aware of any other insurance company that'll come onto a forum and resolve an issue with it's members (please feel free to tell me if it's happened elsewhere) so that must count towards something! :-)

It's a very tricky position we're in but we do aim to make sure that each and every policy holder of ours is covered 100% correctly as incorrect cover is not what we want or need (nobody benefits) and we're working on a fix to the way this trade-heading is administered and sold as a result of your complaints.

Please understand that we're doing a lot behind the scenes around this and your concerns are not falling on deaf ears.

Again, I can only reiterate: if you want to contact me please use the details above or PM me.
