Mini smarties
For those people selling the mini smartie boxes.
Just seen an advert in paper.
Lidl doing a 288g bag half price.
Was £2:75 now £1:37
Just out of interest anybody selling these and how are sales.
Midland vending selling these also cheaper than suppliers.
Thinking of self packing them myself.

Re: Mini smarties
19 per bag just been and bought some, however they are a very tight fit in a tubz vending tub due to the dimple, almost to big but they will just about fit, its just taken me an age to fill them due to this, so wont be buying anymore.

Re: Mini smarties
Am I missing something here but how do tubz vending get over the problem of the dimple!
Surely if they just squeeze em in it is just storing problems up for later.
I would not be happy buying them if there is undue pressure from within the tub and the lids start popping inside the machine.

Re: Mini smarties
I was thinking that myself, unless they the one Lidl are selling are slightly bigger? I have put the smarties in sites close to my house as I to am concerned they will jam! I was tempted not to even put them out but when you have bought 20 bags its a bit of a waste, a lesson learned for next time to check before I buy a large amount

Re: Mini smarties
3 per Tub, they would fit in non dimple tub quite easily and with the offer at Lildl my maths worked it out to be 28p per filled pot.
However I think the offer was only for the weekend?
PS they charge you for carrier bags in Lidl (as I found out) me being a tight **** tried to carry 20 bags of Smarties loose with hilarious results! so make sure you take a carrier with you.

Re: Mini smarties
I bought a bag to see what they looked like in a pot.
They were a really tight squeeze to get them in a Hurleys pot.
Don't think I will be bothering with them.
My son is working his way through them quite nicely,so he's happy.

Re: Mini smarties
The ones from tubz vending also are putting pressure on the lids. I sent back the first lot as they didn't have stickers on the top and looked very self packed(even my own I put stickers on). The lids were opening on loads of them and if the lid does not fit exactly around the boxes inside it will not seat correctly, I imagine very fiddly to pack. The replacements I received from tubz vending (after a conversation with them as I was the only complaint apparently?), have stickers on the lids which help with the sealing tab but I noticed them with crushed boxes in some too which is pushing on the tub lid and looks unsightly. I am also a little wary of stocking them as a call-out for a jam caused by this would be unacceptable. I am siding towards no reorder at present which would be a shame as they would obviously be a popular line. Can nobody source them loose? even when I self packed similar chocolate beans they sold well and I am bemused why nobody at the main suppliers has done anything similar before.
Regards,
Simon.
