Hi there, Yes we are a friendly bunch. Whats the new product and what type of machine is it for?. Yes I think 100% margin is great and what I always try and achieve. As for magazines I don't buy any nor go to any exhibitions.

Just a few stats,

Machine cost 4994 +vat = £5994

Cost of sale .75 + comission (25%) .50 = £1.25 - Profit (on £2 vend) = £0.75

5994 divided by 0.75 = 7992

so thats 7992 vends to break even

If you are registered for vat (I.60 sale price)

Cost of sale .75 comission 0.40 = £1.15 - profit (1.6-1.15) = £0.45

4994 divided by .45 = 11097

So thats 11097 vends to break even

Your cost price of .75 is high for loose sweets - You can buy Hurleys, potted for cheaper. For such a high investment I would expect a better margin.

Is it mandatory to buy the machine and stock from the same supplier?

Pete
What sales output per month per machine do you anticipate?

Pete these are only good for major sites ie big Kids play places , tourist attractions etc and I can anticipate them taking major money as the sites these will be very high footfall.

5000 over 5 years on a lease is approx 20 quid a week need to make about 30 Vends a week. I wouldn't be siting these anywhere less than a 150 Vends a week site minimum would be hoping for more tbh

Does the cost price include the cup to collect the sweets? only seen a picture of the machine though, so making an assumption you will need something to hold the sweets.

This machine does the same job? Not as much choice but i bet it would be cheaper?
http://wetherbyweb.co.uk/index.php?opti ... &Itemid=68

And this from intelligent vending. http://www.intelligentvending.co.uk/sna ... achine.htm £2600. Much cheaper if you want to test the water with the concept.

I am wondering if Dans machine would be able to accept breakfast cerials too. May be a good machine to have in some hotels or B&B's for people getting their breakfast when no staff available??
