what roi do u expect on a product
what roi do u expect on a product
hi all
as u may know i have started manufacturing a new confectionary product and am doing research on what roi u need to make a investment viable
what return do u currently get on the towers etc whats your mark up (reply privately if u wish)
if a product offered you 100 per cent return per vend would u deem this a good deal
thanks

Re: what roi do u expect on a product
Hi Dan
yes this is the best forum if you want to research what works and what dosent in the mini can type machine.
loads of experience on here from ppl who deal with these machines on daily basis!
Could you cofirm that your product is designed to work in clenport M81 type machine and also prices and quantities avalible as I am always looking to trial something new!
IMO you should charge no more than 40p +Vat for your product assuming £1 vend price.
I dont know of anyone who has towers that vend on more than £1 except the Irish boys who use a 2 euro coin.
The suspense is killing me, whats your product??
If you really want some input from the experts on here then host a pic if you want you and your product to be taken seriously!!!
all the best

Re: what roi do u expect on a product
On a £2 vend price you have written off the sweet tower market but I presume you are looking at large vending machines? If that is the case then 74p is reasonable for a £2 vend although getting the punter to give up £2 when most confectionary vends for 60p to £1 is going to be hard work unless you product is exceptional and very well marketed. You will be competing with obviously all the well known and popular brands, but you will already know this. The other issue is how long the stock lasts, thats certainly a consideration when I buy.

Re: what roi do u expect on a product
UK market is not ready for £2 mini-can, if its a sweet product you need much higher grammage for a £2 vend to seem value for money. Not to mention the lack of £2 coins so presumably your mech will be able to cope with that. Just to put it in context, you've got all the supermarket's advertising their milk, bread, whatever at a £1 each so in consumers minds £2 is going to seem way too dear.
Also, 100% markup on the product is no-where good enough. I know some people do vend products at this level but its generally not sufficient in my opinion for the tower vending as you have high costs. If you're paying for fuel, (wages), commission, you can't afford to pay much for the product. If its a huge capacity machine or multiple machine site then perhaps, but for a sweet tower alone where you might only pick up 40-50quid it can't make sense.
ps. have been told many times I don't need to worry about sell-by dates....you should always worry about sell by dates! and make sure it says "best before" not "sell-by" just in case

give the guy a chance, it may make you all millionaires!! at least wait to see what the product is. I think its good for everyone when new products are released for the vending market and say good luck to the guy.

Re: what roi do u expect on a product
ha thanks guys
i dont mind in the sightest .i get coveted by salespeople all the time i hate it ..however im not one of those types im just enthusiastic about a small little business possibley making some cash and helping others make cash
if anyone remembers the coin operated game called stacker (picture on front page)no one beliveed me about that .it took two years to sell it .in the end we sold 2400 its been the best coi op game in ten years .the machine sold 18000 worldwide.i know of at least ten people that became millionaires thru that product.it can happen i think it pays to be open to every possability
one thing that can be sure if u like it get in early because as a sme with funding to smes tight ill only be able to produce 30 a month .this product may help u open doors and get longer contracts for other machines
like i said it wont suit everyone some may worry about it competing with what u already have but embrace it i say it may be the one that really does help ha
