Quiz machines

Post by ali@ali »

Hi All

Does anyone have experience with Quiz / SKW Machines.

I have a few tower vending machines in pubs and have built good relationships with pub landlords and wanted to suggest installing a quiz machine.

can you tell me:

a) the cost/revenue likely for a mchine
b) legislation / tax rules
c) how hard is it to service /repair when things go wrong
d) any pros/cons of this machine

Hi

Revenues are completely dependent on site .
Licensing not needed but premise or you need to pay tax on machine as it pays out a prize greater than stake. How Much depends on max payout of machine. It is new legislation out this February go to Hmrc website for more details .
Breakdowns are ok depending on type of machine but most quiz are pc based, so if you understand repairing pcs and have some electrical electronic maintenance skills you should be ok.
Cons they don't take as much as a fruit machine and you need to pay for every credit used on the newer machines. Also if the site is any good then the big companies usually have a machine in!!

Pros are they take money without buying stock, they don't need refilling, it's a second income for the site & you , if its in the right site you can make a tidy sum. You can always sell on again at pretty much what uou bought for or resite as the machines are all update able to latest firmware .

Best of all I've got a paragon pro with latest firmware and 200 quid dongle on up for sale at the moment :-)
Regards Matt
