A New Pot for Tower Vending Machines

Post by PotResearch »

We are an academic and independent research unit and have been tasked with designing a robust / undamageable, clear, flat bottomed pot with an auto sealed lid preferably at a very reduced cost than what is available now. As the product is new we also have to design and build the associated machinery with low tooling cost in mind.

That is our task, what we would like to ask is; are there any operators of the tower vending machine who would like to :
1. Assist us in our research?
2. View the completed pot?
3. Test samples of the pot.?
4. Would be interested in using the pot to replace existing extruded pots that are brittle and have lid issues?

Owing to the nature of this research non disclosure protocols will be observed in all communications , research and sampling except for general enquiries.

In response to the post from PGBrew:

what are your timescales to have a product ready for production?
We have the product designed and in production, we are currently designing the tools to make it en mass and the plan is to keep costs down to reflect in the end product. The material is much different to that used now, we have moved away from PPE, PET extrusion because of tooling costs. The material is produced in a far different manner cutting costs and, is far more durable. If crushed packed, it will return to its original shape after impact which works well in tower machines. The lid has also been designed no to loosen in any way, so it will not pop off under pressure or in transit. Labeling will also be easier using a part wrap round label that seals the lid. If you you meet our NDP's we will be sending out samples soon and hope to be in production by March of next year at the latest.

do you have a price point to meet?
We do and although very low this is confidential at present subject to NDP.

What is your web address? #
One will be provided when we are ready for release.

what is you main motivation to get involved in this market?
As food scientists we are often invited to resolve issues in a certain market and this is one where we have been asked many times to resolve the issues of the current pots and also fragile tower segments which is also being addressed at this current time. We aim to reduce costs while placing suppliers to end users we do not get involved commercially usually. Our research is usually funded by manufacturers but in this case it is being met by end users and manufacturers.

This is all we can release at this time if you would like to know more you may make an application for Non Disclosure Protocols by emailing: info@potresearch.co.uk. Please include your full name and address and your trading name. Further correspondence will not be entered into at this time until NDP's have been approved.

Released by the Assistant to the Professor on Friday 15th November 2013.
