Yep simply will not cover you if someone knocks a machine over by mistake onto a kid! All calls are recorded when you phone simply and when you mention exactly what you need the policy to cover they basically panic and tell you that the policy does not cover this as then you have evidence if a claim ever arrises
The simply insurance is not good in my opinion and not the type of cover we need as vending operators. The guy on the phone said vending is an areas they stay away from as there are a lot of grey areas and the insurance company which back up their claims are unwilling to insure for risks such as machines falling ontop of kids
I would cancel and seek insurance from a company which will cover everything

If there was a claim and it was accepted, then you would not have the back up of simply. Its not just about supervision, the inside of the tower could have a sharp edge, where the kid cuts itself. It then gets infected and wham. They could also pull the tower over quite easily. Unless you have a sign on the machine stating that all kids must be supervised whilst operating the machine, then in my opinion, you are at risk if you stay with simply. The bottom line is that you could loose your home if someone had a successful claim and you did not have insurance.Ade wrote:there wouldnt be a claim as the parent should be supervising the kid, so if he does get his hand stuck in a machine they would not have a leg to stand on with a claim.

Just had last years premiums refunded....ask them to listen to your tape recorded statement when you first took out your policy. This should explain you are an operator as Simply tried to imply that I was just a supplier.

Good afternoon coin- operated associates. A while ago we spent a short time engaging with the forum about liability insurance for various machines and more specifically about cover whilst you as an engineer were away from site. It appeared to be the case that one or 2 companies who didn't offer this cover announced they could give cover away from site and so we withdrew from the forum gracefully to allow a fair share of the liability insurance to them. In recent days we have received a sudden increase in people asking for quotes. So on behalf of www.insuremyliability.co.uk which is a company run and administered by www.ceta.co.uk please either send me a direct message or email me at noel.woodrow@ceta.co.uk with a contact number and we'll call you back and run through a quote giving you cover whilst away from site.

Thanks Steve,
I will contact both insurers before I decide. Mine is not due until Feb.
Cheers,
Paul

I've tried Ceta but they are unable to insure me for the 10M that one of my site covered... I'm struggling to find an insurer that will!
