Vending Tower Plastic Segment Damage
would any operator have experience of damage to the plastic segments of vending towers when in sites? Maybe the tower is knocked over or takes a vandalism hit?
We are investigating a method of reinforcing the segments to avoid damage and would welcome experiences from operators to allow us to gauge importance of this event. Once this is revealed we will announce our prototype segment damage limitation system.
We would urge you to reply please.

Doesnt really cause a major issue to me. However it would be beneficial if they wern't so brittle.

To be honest if you run a few towers you always end up with a knackered machine which means that you have lots of spares. I have been trading for 2 1/2 years and have about 60 sweet towers and have only ever had to change 2 rings which were smashed by a pool que and a rather drunk male. I charged him twenty quid and used spare rings.
I think you are wasting your research on this one TBH

Re: Vending Tower Plastic Segment Damage
I have had quite a few machines that have been punched to break the rings and steal the sweets, had one this week in fact where they smashed 5 rings ! So stronger rings would definitely benefit me.

Re: Vending Tower Plastic Segment Damage
Given the comments about breakages if, you could place a film that would stop the segments from shattering and make them less brittle? Would that be of any use and of interest?

Re: Vending Tower Plastic Segment Damage
if it could stop the segments from breaking so easily it would be worth looking at ,but it would also need to not spoil the over all look of the machine , maybe it could enhance the machine with cool graphics or something !!

Re: Vending Tower Plastic Segment Damage
I go through about 30-40 rings a year through damge sustained on site. add another 10 due to faulty storage. For the film protection system are you talking about individual films for each ring? 2/3 rings combined? or one film for each tower?

Re: Vending Tower Plastic Segment Damage
The film can be supplied or cut as you need it to fit individual rings, part towers or full towers. Labels for products can be stuck to the outside of the film and it does not obscure the view of the product. It will however resist an impact of well over 500 KG's and stop products from being stolen. There is an issue however we are resolving at present. For impact durability and resistance we would advise at this stage that the full tower version be used as part applications lower the impact resistance.
