I realise it's a bit of a boring subject maybe but would like to hear what other operators use to clean chrome towers. I have some towers in good sites that hardly need more than a bit of dust wiping off the lid every few weeks but other sites where kids play with the machines and leave grubby, sticky marks all over them and they need a proper clean every two weeks.
I normally use a Dettol spray and wipe off with a damp cloth afterwards but I have noticed the lids sometimes seem to get discoloured and the finish deteriorates, I am never sure if it is the Dettol or maybe some local cleaner using furniture polish or something on them.
What do other people use?

Yes, we have a responsibility to make sure are equipment is fit for purpose and that means keeping them clean. I had the same problem as you in so much several lids discoloured.
Now a days, I use dettol or similar bacterial wipes, give tower a really good wipe and then very quickly before it dries use those modern absorbent micro fibre polishing cloths - get good deals at bookers or any supermarket for these.
I always give a machine a wipe over after servicing, the site owners always appreciate you taking the effort.

I tried baby oil on a cloth (read online it's the best way to clean pleastic chrome) but it got loads of dust embeded into it after a few days.
Just use baby wipes now - sometimes leave a dried out stain.
