Regards removing labels:

Found out by trial and error!
I use all the proprietary products that have been mentioned before however, if you have a large container and fill it with water, put some washing up liquid in with water agitate and leave tower segments to soak for several days the labels and glue is easily removed at very, very little cost.

And here's another easy way to remove the labels - use a hairdryer and heat up the area of the label. This melts the glue and then you can peel off the label quite easily. Better than picking off brittle bits.

Barbara, that works brilliantly with your labels. Not so good on the paper based ones. Main problem is I dont have a hairdryer or a large container to fill with water and washing up liquid in my van let alone several days to sit at a site whilst it soaks the label off. :50: Guess I will have to stick to stiky stuff remover and razor blades!

Andy, are you saying you don't have a hairdryer in your van to keep your Barnet in tact and looking your best for your customers. Hope you have lip gloss at least. :-).

Paper labels must be quite tricky to remove. We never considered them as they get tatty very quickly and attract dirt. Maybe get them laminated first then apply to towers.

Kind regards,

I dont use labels for that very reason Barbara. It must be a nightmare when you want to change stock lines etc. I really dont understand why people use product labels at all.

Retail may be detail but I will earn more money and quicker. Because, A. My towers all look very tidy. Every tower Ive ever seen with labels has one either half hanging off or a 2nd label has been scruffily stuck over the first one. B. I can cover my area and sites much quicker because I dont have to spend time scraping labels off to swap lines.

But each to their own!

On the subject of labels .....

One thing that we must never forget and that is, we are dealing with a food product and ensuring the towers are kept clean, tidy without unnecessary clutter/paper labels is paramount to attracting customers to the food source. Andy has the right attitude when it comes to ensuring his vendors look 'the part' as this does attract more customers to want to purchase.

If operators like to use labels, that is fine as it is their choice and it's their business, but get them printed onto vinyl with indelible ink. Customers like to be 'sold to' and the more attractive the vendor the more desirability the customer will have to want to make a purchase and come back for repeat purchases.

Finally, don't forget to keep the stands clean too!

Kind regards,

Barbara
