I bought a replacement used globe from Instance 2 weeks ago. £45 inc delivery which I thought was dear given I paid £60 for the blooming machine!

If your handy you can try ordering some suitable material from your local sign makers. Get some a little over long as you'll need a strip to join the two ends together to make the circle complete. If you cut off a 4 inch wide section you can then drill 8 holes in it and 8 holes in the large piece of Perspex. Fasten with 8 small nuts and bolts.
Another way round it is to partially vinyl wrap an old globe if it's just a bit of scratching. It really smartens up scruffy machines.
