Public Liability Insurance for kiddie rides and towers?

Hi guys

I'm having trouble finding a reasonable quote for public liability insurance which will include kiddie rides! I have only recently got into this type of vending and the underwriters seem to have a heart attack as soon as they hear the work 'kiddie ride'!!! I only operate 6 of them and 400 towers but I'm being quoted £1200 for the year!!

Anyone got any advice on who will insure me? And is it possible to have more than one public liability cover? One for towers and one for kiddie rides?

I tried both but the cheapest quote I got back was £1200 for the year. They told me they can do the towers for £100 but the kiddie rides increase the premium to £1200!!! I only operate 5 kiddie rides! Almost makes it pointless for me to operate them if my public liability is over a grand a year!

Any help anyone? Seems like I'm just spending my life calling broker after broker

Hi Ross, I recently enquiried about this - I "googled" to get a few companies who provide PLI for kiddie rides, and the best quote I got was £100 for 2, and then approx. £25 for each additional one. I don't have any at the moment and the site I was looking at fell through, so I didn't proceed. I will try and recall who it was and get back to you, but just wanted to let you know there are reasonable quotes out there!

What do you do for ADIPS? Do you get your rides tested annually, and how much does it cost? I had more trouble finding aout about ADIPS than insurance!

I'm not sure about ADIPS yet as my rides havnt been sited a year yet! But I assume I will have to pay a company to do them all on site

I went ahead with a quote I received on public liability from a company called Marsh & Co Insurance Brokers:

If you can find that company who quoted you £100 let me k ow and I might try them next year

ADIPS isnt law as long as rides are pat tested they are legal, ADIPS is just a big con.
im covered for childrens rides and pay £140 per annum with intasure

You might want to check your policy or at least see if it mentions kiddie rides in your policy documents Ade?! I called Insta up and they quoted me £150 for the towers but £1200 if I wanted to include rides
