Old Pound Coin Plates
Sounds a silly question really but what's everyone doing with all there old coin plates if you have been replacing them?
I will have hundreds after I have finally converted all my towers but didn't know if it's worthiness keeping them or not

Re: Old Pound Coin Plates
I think it will be the same plate for the new pound coin only. Change the top validator to prevent the old £ coin from passing through.

Are the metal springs a specialist spring only available from Hurleys / Tubs or can u get them from Srewfix or some fastener supplier?

Re: Old Pound Coin Plates
Why would we need to change the plates again though? I spoke to my bank and they said they are happy for me to bank the old pound coins for a good few months after the October deadline so I don't see the point in changing them all over again unless I'm missing something here?

Re: Old Pound Coin Plates
you wont have to change plates, full tension on spring and maybe a little filing on first lever and old pound wont go through

I had chat with the head cashier in my local HSBC whom has been there since the late 80s when I started vending.
she assures me that the old £1 will be bankable for years to come and she can prove its the case by welcoming any old 10p and 50p which can still be deposited into my bank account.
Don't believe the scare stories, there is NO NEED to change plates in October.
The only thing that will change is retailers will not take them after October, the Banks most certainly will!
