Stand or no stand for tower

Post by Tufty »

Do you guys ever site towers without stands?

If it's pretty common what kind of percentage do you reckon?

I'm new to it all but think the stands look like they could easily be toppled over?

I only have a couple of sites so far but both of them requested the tower just be placed on counter top.

Just curious to see what the norm is?

Most are on stands. THe sites I have where they are on counters tend to be pretty rubbish.

I never site a tower without a stand, and I've got liability insurance- I also only use the large stands from tubz vending, the small base ones are far to dangerous and as you have noticed look unsteady and indeed can topple over.

Thanks guys, that is kind of what I expected.

The other site I have actually doesn't have a tower but some sort of tubz vending display rack behind bar, hoping to visit this weekend and check it all out,I think it suited them as they didn't have much space. From what I have seen thought he racks don't seem very popular, the idea of no jams appeals to me though!

It is in a social club only open over the weekend so will visit this weekend and I will have a better idea.

My understanding is she confirms I have filled to capacity (50ish tubs I think) then pays in arrears,so if I go and it is empty she gives me 50quid out the till minus her cut.

I think it has been there a couple of years and I quite like the simplicity of it all,in theory anyway.

I believe they started off with a tower but wanted it moved due to space and having this behind the bar was a happy compromise.

I'm with you would never use the older screw in stands, there is certainly a reason why tubz vending now have the wider based ones with bolts to fix the column to the stand.

The old ones are just too top heavy and as you say dont want to claim on the liability insurance when they fall over and smash something onsite, let alone the cost of replacing a broken tower.

Just a quick question, but how much are you looking to make out of this and how much did you pay for the towers, PM me the response if you like, but I am also a Newbie on here, but you do sound like you need some help, 11 towers is not even a hobby in this game.

Cheers

Thanks Richard,I sent you a wee PM.

I have read a lot of people average out at around 25 per month,I think if I could hit this figure I would be happy.

If it all goes wrong or I decide it is not for me I think I could sell the machines and stock etc without a great loss so hoping it is not too much of a gamble.

I am literally a total newbie though,I don't know anyone in vending and had never used one of the towers before. I took advice (I think from yourself?) the other day and stripped one down so feeling a lot more confident with that side of things although I'm still clueless when it comes to certain terms like dimple rings etc,no idea where they are

The forum has been a great resource for me but I think I will only get a real idea of how everything works when I start visiting the sites and have to deal with the nitty gritty if that makes sense?

The plan is to visit the current sites and hopefully be placing some new ones this weekend, hopefully this will give me a much better understanding of how everything works.

You guys have been great at helping me out though and sorry for spamming up theorem wi all my questions.

If you're going to put it on a shelf/bartop etc have a chain at the back. In one pub the chain went around a steel support for the glasses storage above, another had the chain going under the bar to a fastening beneath.
