Apart from obvious coins, I have found:
1. Loads of paper
2. Hair clips
3. A dead fly
4. A finger nail
Cheers

Re: Oddest thing in the coin box
Maybe not the oddest thing but cut and paste from my post in the other topic:
Dont know if I would rate it as the best or worst con to get a £1 tub out of a charity tower, but not long after the new £1 came out I found a very roughly filed piece of steel in the cash box, best of all they had taken the trouble to file the corners off like the new £1. Must of taken them ages to do, even on basic wage they probably spent more than £1 worth of time making it.
Needless to say it was a garage MOT centre. . . . . .

Re: Oddest thing in the coin box
The paper you found is almost certainly from muppets who think they can wrap a 1p or 5p with enough of it to make it into the shape of a £1 coin, another tactic I come across is coins wrapped in tin foil. It never works but maybe it's some sort of urban myth amongst kids because I come across it fairly regularly.PabloV8Haggis wrote:Apart from obvious coins, I have found:

What I do is keep any 1p, 5p or 20p coins and also extra £1 coins from when someone has put money in on an empty row and cash it in separately at the end of the year, normally averages about £70-£80 for me.

The cheekiest thing we’ve found was a self made bit of metal rounded to £1 with a small white label wrapped around saying “I owe U £1”
