Thanks guys! I bought a wee set for a fiver and they have worked a treat on the first mech I tried.
Pablo,the Dremel looks a great piece of kit,I have some Tomy machines needing a mod to accept new coin and safe actually did a video showing how to do it. I have a lot to do so reckon it might be a good investment.

theres one on ebay for about £12 not an actual dremel but just as good, you just need the dremel bit then

Hi Laurie,
I had this with some of the mechs I changed over the the new pound coin the plates weren't very well machined and it was causing the pawl to catch on the cam, in my case a bit of silicone grease (from Screwfix) and a few turns of the mech to wear it in resolved the problem.
