Just seen the cost on the other thread, I think they have priced themselves out of the market. Would be ideal for small village locations though where shops are miles away but my god you would have to shift some stock to recoup the outlay of £11,000

Hi Thank you for your interest,

We currently have a machine for sale on eBay.

Please take a look at the following link. Finance can be arranged ?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... RK:MESE:IT" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

if the machines are installed on private property such as a petrol forecourt for example < like the one with the crazy roof in the picture (by the way steel roofs are the norm to keep fridge and customer dry whilst shopping) ,there would be no permission necessary.

We Install the machines.

They are not cheap, they are armoured, weatherproof and anti vandal, and you can sell high margin products in them such as readymade foods on the go, sandwiches etc fabulous at train stations for example where you could buy your daily staples such as milk, bread, cheese, bacon.. they change the face of what you can sell from a vending machine, the business case works very well in Europe. A double milk machine at the end of a famers field turnover 200,000 Euro a year, machines ROI less than a year. The machines have a 10 year life span

On finance a double machine one refrigerated and one ambient that could sell food one side & mobile phone accessories on the other (one Stop 24 Hour Shop) for example is roughly £512 per month depending on your financial status.

So it is all down to where your concession is to place the machine and what products you put in it

Ps The guy who brought the GHD straighteners to the market in the UK was told he was crazy as they are double the price of anything else on the market, today nearly every woman in Britain owns a pair ?

Kind Regards
Nicole

Wonderful machines, and brilliant concept. We sat here in the office and brainstormed about where we could put one in Ireland and we couldn't think of a site where there would be enough footfall to justify the price. If a machine was going to take that money ie 200,000 Euro a year then no-one in their right mind would let you put it on their site especially a forecourt or train station ( not many of them over here ) It would be more suited to a shop who replaced their front window with the machine , but even then vandalism would be a problem.

Thank you for your feedback.. yes a shop front in a current retail outlet is a great business opportunity to be open 24 hours.

The machines are purposely designed and built to withstand vandals, you could come and see the machine it is solid, that is where alot of the expense comes from.

Also the console is a very clever piece of kit and with today’s technology you could even install a CCTV inside the machine and view it on line from your mobile phone anywhere in the world ?

The price may scare you because of the margins. Let’s look at a business case for the machine.

Let say you sell readymade sandwiches @ £1. You would obviously sell them for more, and the margin on them can be higher than 30% but keep it conservative.

Let’s say we install the machine outside a business area that has hundreds of people walk past during breaks

£1 Business Case scenario

Sell 100 products a day @ £1 x 30 days = £3000 per month turn over
(On average petrol forecourts in Italy sell 190 products per day with a higher turnover than a £1)

Profit margin is 30% per item Machine profit is £900 per month
- Lease rental approx £300 pm
It makes £600 per month in this scenario..

Lets take 1 part time staff member @ £6 per hour costs approx £520 pm
Consider the machine as a tax deductible employee working 24 / 7

All machines are custom built so for example you could call your machine The Sandwich Man.

Your constructive criticism on this case is welcome

Many thanks
Nicole

Nicole , just being the devils advocate here, if it was an operator owning the machine, and taking that sort of turnover, then the site owner would want commission. So knock 20% commission of your top line as well. Also if it took that sort of money and you were in a commission situation with the site owner, you would need to make sure you had an iron clad contract stating amongst other things that the machine was sited there for a minimum 3 year period to make it viable. Even 4 years when you factor in commission.

Also , the average site is only busy 5 days a week. and quoting Italy is a no no. Stick in some UK figures for authenticity. Also there's no sign of any profit for running costs of the operators company. It definitely is an end users game, not an operator.
I would see a bigger market for it in Japan ( although they build most of their own machines) as they have shops with nothing in them but vending machines. Does away with the need for staff etc. If it was me I would be also targetting shops in the UK like forecourts who could install these inside and do away with a staff member. Also they would be great in rough areas where a staff could keep an eye on them inside a premises from behind a protective screen thereby increasing security.. Holiday resorts would also be another potential goldmine, as in putting them inside a holiday village. The possibilities of what to sell in a holiday village or caravan park would be endless. Just my thoughts on the matter. But I do think the case study above is a bit anorexic.

The proposal would work better if the shop owned/leased the machine, therefore no commission payable. Also with perishables, needs daily attention, best provided by the shop keeper.

I was out in Saudi Arabia recently and noticed that petrol stations are exactly that, they don't have shops. Local convenience stores are few and far between and never appeared to be open. If the price of the machines was a bit more sensible I would defiantly give it a punt.
